With a background in caricature and painting, Abdulqader Bakhit’s style and subject matter are greatly influenced by childhood and the positivity associated with it. The media he uses evolves with time, but the innocence and purity found therein are constant. Hues of primary colors dominate the majority of his work and convey a warmth that transcends to the observer and transports them to a simpler, more innocent time.
Abdulqader was born in Majdoob, Sudan in 1966. He obtained a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Sudan in 1990. He is a member of the Sudanese Plastic Artists Union and the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association. Abdulqader was the recipient of a UNESCO Award in 1998, as well as an Al-Khurafee Biennial Award from Kuwait in 2006.
Bakhit spends his time between Amman, Jordan and Khartoum, Sudan. Abdulqader was the Art Director at Amman’s Dar Al-Anda Art Gallery between 2002 and 2016.
